Well, I completed my short for Phaze's contest, Surge. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think (okay, I hope) it's just my insecurity as a writer that makes me want to hide under my covers when I think about it being read by someone else. I love the premise, as I do with all my ideas, but something happens from mind to screen. I still feel that the vivid images in my head don't read the same when they are on paper. After completeing this story, I put it aside for almost a week. I would have shelved it longer if I had the time. When I went over it last night, I was surprised to how uncrappy it really was. I kept imagining A LOT of revisions. I still may decide to (it's with my wonderful metor right now), but I am still pleased with my first draft.
Now if only the editors at Phaze are too! ;)
